# Everything a shared PDF should do

## One link, several documents

A link is not limited to one file. Put the proposal, the estimate and the timeline behind a single address, and add to it later without sending anything again.

Each document keeps its own versions and its own comments.

## Swap the file, keep the link

Upload a new version and everyone holding the link sees it. The address never changes, so a QR code printed on a leaflet or a link pasted in a chat months ago still lands on the current document.

Every version is kept. Put an old one back with one click.

## See who opened it

Every view is recorded — when it happened, and whether it came from the link or from someone scanning the QR code. You find out whether the thing you sent was read, without asking.

Views, sources and a timeline of everything that happened.

## Ask for an email first

Turn this on and a viewer gives their email before the document opens. You learn who actually looked, not just how many did — and they are only asked once for the whole link.

Off by default. It costs you some views, so use it where it earns them.

## Let people comment

Viewers can leave a note on a specific spot on a specific page. No account, no sign-up, no software to install — they click, they type, you see it.

Comments stay attached to the version that was on screen.

## Watermark every view

Each viewer's email is stamped on the document they are reading. Nothing stops a screenshot, but a page with somebody's name on it is much less likely to be forwarded.

Turn it on for the documents where that matters.

## Set an end date

A link can stop working on a date you choose, or the moment you retire it. An old proposal stops being a live document sitting on the internet.

Retired addresses are never reissued to something else.

## Password and downloads

Add a password if the document needs one. Turn downloading off if you would rather it was read than kept.

Both are per link, changeable after you have sent it.

Send a client one link for the whole round — concepts, type specimen, the revised cover. They comment on the page instead of writing "page 4, the blue one" in an email. When you upload round two, the link is the same and last round's notes stay attached to last round.
